After a 10-2 season in 2016, and a three round deep berth in the playoffs in 2015, fourth-year head coach Kris Iske has the White Oak Roughnecks poised for another great season. The Roughnecks face-off against the “New and Improved” New Diana Eagle team in Eagle Stadium tonight. In last years matchup between the two rival schools, the Roughnecks came out on top, 47-7.

Although the Eagles haven’t had the strongest outings in last two seasons going 3-17 combined they look to have improved drastically and are a “Dark Horse” for a state championship run according to Dave Campbell’s High School Football Magazine. State Championship worthy or not, the Eagles are still going to a formidable opponent for the first game of the season.

Key players (last season stats):

Zach Maly DT/WR 83 tackles, 6TFL, 2 sacks

Kason Kienzle DB/WR 25 Catches 530 yards 5 TD, 2 INT

Heath Hood QB 2,976 yds 36 TD’s 500 rushing 13 TD’s
